Description
The spherical opaline glass diffuser forms the luminous centre of the lamp. It is surrounded by curved red acrylic panels arranged vertically around a compact white base.
The contrast between the soft white globe and the translucent red structure creates a bold, low-profile composition with a distinctly Space Age character.
Design Maker History
This lamp has been identified as an IXO model by Industrias Quiel, Spain, based on comparison with an identical marked example. This particular piece no longer retains its original base cover, where the manufacturer’s mark would normally appear.
Its construction, materials and typology, considered alongside the known chronology of the company’s production, support an approximate date of c. 1970s.
