This authentic vintage wall-mounted coat rack was manufactured in Spain during the mid-20th century and bears the engraved mark “PATENTES” on its metal base, confirming its period design and registered industrial origin.
The piece features a distinctive radial composition, combining functional utility with a playful yet balanced visual language characteristic of European mid-century design.
Design and craftsmanship
The coat rack is constructed from chromed metal arms extending from a central mount, each terminating in a coloured resin sphere. The five balls — red, green, yellow, white and black — introduce colour and rhythm while serving as practical hanging points.
The chromed metal structure provides durability and structural clarity, while the resin elements reflect the post-war embrace of new materials and colour in everyday domestic objects.
